o Yahoo, eBay Reach 52-Week Highs as Nasdaq Surges

Bay Area -- Shares of San Jose-based eBay and Sunnyvale-based Yahoo both hit 52-week highs on Tuesday, helping the tech-heavy Nasdaq reach an 11-month high. Buoyed by rising consumer confidence and signs of an economic recovery, eBay closed up 3.6% to $103.05, while Yahoo topped the $30 mark before closing at $29.97, up about 5.2%. Other area tech stocks also posted significant gains on the day, including Actel (up 8%), Altera (up 10.3%), Artisan Components (up 8.9%), Asyst Technologyies (up 8.7%), Cypress Semiconductor (up 9.5%), JuniperNetworks (up 8.5%), Network Equipment Technologies (up 8.4%),Novellus Sytems (up 8.6%), Nvidia (up 8.9%), Omnivision Technologies(up 8.7%), Secure Computing (up 14%) and Synaptics (up 15%).
